How it works in Ontario
Ontario also runs the Child Support Service, which can set or recalculate child support without going to court when parents agree to use it.
The table amount is the starting point. Parents usually also share special expenses such as daycare and orthodontics, and the amount can change with shared parenting or if paying it would cause undue hardship.

How much is child support in Ontario for one child?
On a $50,000 income it is about $450 a month. On $75,000 it is about $695, and on $100,000 about $932.
Which province's table do I use?
You use the table for the province or territory where the paying parent lives, even if the children live somewhere else.
What if the paying parent earns over $150,000 in Ontario?
For one child, the amount is $1,327 plus 0.76% of income over $150,000. For two children, $2,135 plus 1.22%. A court can decide a different amount above $150,000 if the table amount is not suitable.
Who collects child support in Ontario?
Payments can be enforced through the Family Responsibility Office (FRO). Once an order or agreement is registered, the program collects payments and passes them on.
