The 2025 Child Support Tables: What Changed

On October 1, 2025, new Federal Child Support Tables took effect across Canada. It was the first update since 2017. The new tables reflect 2023 tax rules, so amounts changed in every province and territory.

Does my existing order change automatically?

No. An order or agreement made before October 1, 2025 does not change by itself. However, a difference between your current amount and the new table amount can be treated as a change in circumstances, which may allow either parent to ask for an update.

Is this calculator updated?

Yes. Every amount on this site uses the 2025 tables. Some older calculators online still use the 2017 tables, which can give the wrong number.
