Quebec Child Support Calculator

Estimate child support when both parents live in Quebec, using the 2026 Quebec table.

How this works

When both parents live in Quebec, child support is set with the Quebec model, not the federal tables. It looks at both parents' incomes.

How the Quebec model works

  1. Each parent's disposable income is their yearly income minus a basic deduction of $13,865 (2026).
  2. The two disposable incomes are added together.
  3. The 2026 Quebec table gives the basic parental contribution for that combined income and number of children.
  4. Each parent pays their share, in proportion to their disposable income.

Custody and parenting time

With shared custody (each parent at least 40% of the time), each parent's share is weighed against the time the children spend with the other parent, and the difference is paid. Between 20% and 40% of time, the official form applies a reduction. Childcare, post-secondary studies and special expenses are added on top.

Yearly indexing

Quebec updates its table and the basic deduction every January 1. Support amounts are also indexed each year (2% in 2026).
